What do you repair? We specialize in DJI products including the Phantom 3 & 4, Mavic Pro & Air, Spark and the Inspire 1 & 2 including the Zenmuse X3 & X5 cameras and the Osmo. We also repair other popular drones such as Yuneec & Parrot.
What is the average cost? The cost varies by the drone and job. Unlike other companies that offer a "flat fee", we have found it is much more affordable to the consumer to price the job according to the exacting issue. We offer completely free diagnostics and estimates as well as free return shipping to national customers. Bottom line, we will get you an answer at no cost to you. It doesn't get any easier than that. Our prices are highly competitive and repair is almost always the best option.
What is included with the repair? Our price estimate will include the parts, labor & tax (if necessary). Return shipping to national customers is always fast & free, even if you decline the repair. Additionally, all calibrations, firmware updates and test flights are added and performed as necessary to ensure all systems are working properly.
What condition will a repaired drone be like compared to new? Great question. All repairs are confirmed to be working properly and safe prior to return. In most cases, our drones are returned looking and flying like brand new. We use factory rebuild techniques to ensure the quality of the repair is like that of the factory assembly, no shortcuts.
Do you stock repair parts? Yes, we do. We stock most common repair parts for the models we repair. For those hard to get parts, we have specific local suppliers that can get us nearly every other hard to get part within a matter of days.
Where do we accept shipments from? We ship to and from the continental United States. We also can ship to Alaska, Hawaii and globally by special request. Global shipments may be subject to additional import fees or taxes.
How long does shipping take? Most shipments average 1-3 business days. It is unusual for any package to take longer than 5 days to arrive.
Who is our shipping provider? We work in unison with the United States Postal Service (USPS). We have found the USPS to be the most reliable and quickest while also providing affordable rates and shipping options.
What should I use to ship a package to Madison Area Drone Service? Please only the USPS to ship packages to us. Packages shipped via UPS or FedEx may be rejected at the Post Office and sent back. If you need to ship via UPS or FedEx we can make special arrangements, but you will need to contact us first.
How much will it cost to ship a drone to you? Generally, with insurance, 1-3 day Priority mail shipping will average $20-30 for most containers.
What to I send in the box? In most cases, we will need the drone, propellers & the remote. If you have a case that holds everything together neat and tidy, you may send that along inside the box rather than wrapping the individual parts with bubble wrap. Please do not include the batteries, chargers, cables, mobile device or other accessories unless instructed to do so. Don't forget the gimbal locks (if applicable) to prevent the camera from being knocked around during shipment.
Will I have to pay for return shipping? Not at all. Return shipping is completely free. Insurance is included.
I am unfamiliar with shipping, what should I do? Don't worry, we will help guide you through the process. Simply contact us for more information. Additionally, your local Post Office or shipping store can help you box up and send your drone to us.
What aerial services to we provide? Our advanced DJI drones are able to capture aerial photography and HD video, up to 4k at 60 frames per second. We specialize in complex, difficult and demanding environments, including demanding video sequences. In addition to aerial media, we also can generate 2D and 3D maps, collect data points such as distance, area & volumetric measurements. From realty to new construction, and everything in between, rest assured we can get the job done.
What equipment do you use? Our available drones include the highly capable DJI Inspire 2, DJI Inspire 1 and the maneuverable but impressive DJI Mavic Air for tight spots or inside shots. Our DJI Inspire 2 is capable of speeds up to 57 MPH and can obtain impressive and difficult shots with ease while keeping up with a demanding environment. Additionally, we use the DJI Osmo for stabilized ground shots, time lapse, and precise audio capture with our Rode microphone. We also use a Nikon DSLR camera for ground photography and video that requires changing depth of field.
What is our experience? Our lead pilot has flown nearly 1000 flights, over 800 miles of combined distance over several years of practice without incident. With over 15 years of piloting remote aircraft, we have the experience and confidence necessary for any situation. Our lead pilot is also our lead repair technician.
Do we possess the necessary requirements to fly? Of course. All pilots flying on behalf of Madison Area Drone Service hold their remote pilot certificate required for commercial flight operations by the FAA. Additionally we are insured per event, with proof of insurance able to be provided prior to each flight if requested in advance. We adhere to all airspace regulations and will not fly unless we have the necessary permissions.
